General product requirements

Many types of equipment require general product safety certification to various national and international standards. Equipment designed for use in hazardous (classified) locations requires compliance to one or more specialized product safety standards in addition to the general product safety requirements. If you are looking to develop a product for use in hazardous (classified) locations, experience and knowledge of these standards is needed. Without proper knowledge and support, your development project is likely at risk of delays and redesigns. Quality System Requirements

If your company is looking into building products for hazardous (classified) locations for the first time, depending on the certifications you are looking to get, you may also need to have a quality system in place to be able to produce your equipment. If your company is already ISO 9001 approved, you will only need to add the additional requirements from ISO/IEC 80079-34. If a quality system overall is new, then both standards will need to be implemented. at TLW Technologies LLC, we have experience with the requirements of these standards, and can give guidance on how to comply with these requirements.
